French Polishing

zsideboard

French polishing is a traditional method of finishing a piece of furniture which enhances the natural beauty of the wood below. It is done by application of layers of shellac built up on a piece of furniture over a period of time. These layers give the wooden surface a protective layer.

Pieces of furniture that are older, faded, scratched, can be made to look much more presentable by freshening up their appearance by having them re hand French polished.

An enormous benefit of French polish is that localized repairs can be completed when required.

Tim is a master craftsman and in particular when dealing with finishes it is important to have someone experienced in this area to give the correct advise.
